LT Ron Turner, 1/39 Infantry, Worms and Baumholder FRG 1966-1967

Ron Turner wrote in to reminisce about happy days in Taukkunen Kaserne down on the Rhine, and less happy days up the hill in H. D. Smith Barracks:

I was in Worms in 1st of the 39th in 1966 & 67 until COMZ came in from France and took our Kassern away. I was HQ company XO, communications officer, supply officer, property book officer and anything else they could think of, we only had nine officers and i was junior. It was great duty until we moved to Baumholder.

Edward Beebe, Scout Platoon and Echo Company, 1/39 Inf (M) 1987

On my post about Two Guys From Echo Company, 1986, Edward Beebe left his contact details. He remembers Bobo from Echo Co (I still haven't found contact details for Bobo, so if anyone can help. . . .).

Edward was part of the big Echo Co / Scout Platoon TOW confusion around 1987. Order-counterorder-disorder. I forget how long the Scouts were on that merrygoround. There are probably still people trying to work out who they were assigned to.

You can reach Edward Beebe at:

Glenn Boege, Anti-Tank Platoon CSC 1/39 Inf 1979-1981

Here's one I missed in the comments in 2024. Had a few notes from SP/4 Glenn Boege (if I've got his full name right from Chuck Braziel) who was following up on "Charlie Greenwald and Dan Knapp, 1/39 Inf Combat Support Company, 1981-1982":

I remember you guys.
I remember Sgt. Hooker. He was hardcore and squared away.
SP/4 Boege 79-81 CSC 1/39th AT

Pretty good chance that Boege and I used some of the same equipment when I was with Echo Co 1/39 Inf back in '86 and again in '89. Be sure to reach out if you were around back then.
