Im looking for a friend of mine from the 1st 39th we were in A Co. his name is Willy Brown. I have been looking for him now for about 30 years. If anybody out there can help me find him my E-Mail is done436064@yahoo.com My name is Don Williams I went to the !st 39Th. in Nov 1966 Just before the move to Baumholder. In Jan 1967 I went to the 8Th. Div. AMU and stayed there till discharged. I believe he was from the south east U.S. I appreciate all the help I can get.

1st Battalion 39th Infantry Regiment | The 20th Anniversary of the Web Beacon

On 27 October 2005, twenty years ago today (and fifteen years after the unit was redesignated out of existence in Baumholder in 1989), I started this 1/39th Infantry web beacon. It's nice to have a big anniversary, although it also makes one pause to wonder where all the time has gone.

After a pretty good start, traffic here declined pretty rapidly in the late 2000s due to the rise of Facebook and similar social media sites. Nevertheless, Paddy's Gang veterans from all eras occasionally visit - thanks to you all for stopping by and leaving your details. 

So I'm keeping the site alive on Blogger.com. I also hope to eventually spin it out into a proper standalone home page with historical documents and the like.

Meanwhile, for those of you who post here, please be sure to include your email address as well. Otherwise there's no way for anyone to get in touch with you. 

OK, we'll drive on.
