Sean Carpenter, Alpha Company 1/39 Inf (M), Baumholder FRG
In late July I got a number of great emails from Sean Carpenter, who served with Paddy's Gang in Baumholder during the late 1980s. Carpenter's got a memory like a rat trap and he's remembered a huge number of guys from those days, so here's a rough list that I've thrown together from his emails. (I've promised a few people that I'll get a user-friendly roster together, too, but for the moment I'll have to just keep posting them as I find them.)
Thanks, Sean!

His email address is in there -- why not drop him a line?
You and I were in Baumholder at the same time, although I left before you did. Where'd you end up?
And if there's anyone you're trying to find, or if you want me to post your address, drop a line (matthewginn@gmail.com).
Cheers
Matt
Hey Steve,
What platoon, squad were you with?
I need a reminder,Deluca called lots of people interesting names,Ha! I had a Pfc Rick Williams(Lil Will, boxer, my roomate, and we had SFC Roderic Williams(2nd plt God)Hung out with Moncur and Guterriez.
I'm glad another has found us.I left in Aug 89 to spend some quality time away from all you guys. I hope the days are treating you well.
Sean P. Carpenter (CARP)
I remember all of you well...very well...watched some of you grow into fine soldiers...watched some of you fizzle out into just a memory....politics got the better of this Unit and it saddened me to see it go from a good company to a cess pool of wanna be soldiers...CPT Wild Bill Cooper was relieved of his command... its hard not to look back and remember the struggles of some while remembering all the wild parties at Steve Yaters house..and Salvator Digenaro's house.Steve was eventually shot in the Heart by a California police officer and Salvator Digenaro "RIO" died from a illness while living on the east coast.I spoke to him on the phone for the last time in 2005..this Platoon was one of the best I ever served in, many awesome memories with all of you....
Sounds like you got there a year or two after I left. I'd be grateful if you'd shoot me a line (matthewginn@gmail.com) and tell me more about Digenarro. He was my EIB partner, a great guy, and although I lost track of him after I left Baumholder, I always hoped to get in touch again . . . what a damned shame.
Matt
