Will Pettit, Delta Co, 1st Battalion 39th Infantry, 1985-1987

Have swapped a few emails recently with Will Pettit, who served with Paddy's Gang at the same time I did:
I was with D 1/39 from 1985-1987, same company as the boxer Ray Mercer. I was The XO's jeep and track driver for a while. I started out in SFC Donovan's platoon. I was there from Dec.1985-Nov.87. I did two more years at Ft. Benning in the 197th. And that was the end of my Army career. I wish I would have finished out in Germany, but wanted to see the Army state side.

I wasn't looking for anyone in particular. Don't know if you heard from Hurlbert. He was in Delta with me then went to HHQ.

Thanks,

Will
Turns out Will and I knew a few of the same people, and were neighbors when I was up in Echo Co. He's left contact details so let me know if you'd like to get back in touch.

AAAO!

UPDATE: I may be confusing my SFC Donovans, but I think he's the same one who served in the S-3 in 1989 - http://4-12inf.blogspot.com/2007/01/sfc-donovan-s-3-shop-412-inf-m-1989.html

p.s. You can add your name to the roster now!

I remember Will very well. We started out in Ft.Benning together and I had a picture of him and I in an airport lounge, drinking a beer. If I can find it I'll try to get a copy on here.

I remember Pettit. I was in SFC Donovans platoon also. Myself, SGT Godsey and SSG Fonda, SSG Coraminas and SGT Brenner and SSG Henshaw. Myself, Donovan, Henshaw and Corominas left in 1988 to attend SFQC. Donovan snapped his leg on a jump and was medically boarded out. Corominas showed up at 1st Group, wearing unauthorized HALO wings and Dive badge. He finally got kicked out. Now works for USPS in Florida. SGT Godsey, I still have contact wioth. Last I saw Fonda was in Haiti in 1994. PFC Caliandro died of brain cancer early last year. Ran into PFC Damon Lewis last time was in 1991, when he was a student in Ranger School as a recycle. PFC Fajardo spent his time in Fort Leavenworth prison. Last year, he just showed up on my doorstep. I had to run him off.

Wow, Raymond, that's quite a lot of history. Hard to believe thirty years have got behind us quite so quickly. I'll try to send you a message separately with Will Pettit's email, although it's actually been many years now since we corresponded. Meanwhile, I hope you're doing well. Is there anyone in particular you're trying to find?

Thanks

Matt

Sorry, Raymond, I can't seem to contact you via Google+. I'll take a chance and post Will's details here. Again, they're many years old, so may not work. If you spot them, just add a new post. That'll generate an automatic email to my inbox, and then I'll come back and scrub them from the web beacon.
