Colonel Massey, Taukkonen Barracks Worms FRG 1969
This one's a bit of a reach, and from an anonymous source as well, but it sounds like a good story. Perhaps the good Colonel Massey (could it have been LTC George M Massey?) was with 1/39 Infantry back in '69. Or maybe he was just in Worms when the battalion was down on the Rhine. Anyway, here's the comment:
Colonel Massey??? That name does ring a bell. Was he the guy with the two large dogs who wore Lederhosen off duty? Was he with the MP unit located in the building in the southeast corner of the kaserne? Quite a character.I was at Taukkenen in Worms from June 1969 to September 1970, 64th MP, the guys who manned the gates and were stationd in the buildng just to the north of the other MP unit.
