Chris Barnthouse, 1981 - 1983
Here's another in an unfortunately long series of short posts, created after I smoked my database. Cutting straight to the chase, I heard from LT Chris Barnthouse who served with the 39th Infantry Regiment during the 1980s. He's in Indiana these days.
Naturally, I can put you in touch if you send a note.

LT Christopher S. BarnthouseMore news from Chris:
Served with:
Bravo (Weapons Platoon)
Alpha (2nd Platoon)
HHC (HQ Platoon)
Arrived Jan 1981
Departed Dec 1983
I was a platoon leader in B Co, XO for A Co, and then set a division record (19 months) as Support Platoon Leader. I also was OIC for Paddy’s Walk in 1983.As for me, I missed out on the Paddy's Walk and Nijmegen walks, but was on the Combat Run team in '86. Let me tell you . . . that was about as hard as I've ever run, and I've had to do some running in my time.

Best Support Platoon Leader ever. I Commanded Alpha Company during the time Chris was there. was in Charlie under Soriano, S-3 Air, CSC 4.2 Mortar and XO for someone along the way to Commanding Alpha. Good men served then as now. Mike Jimison

Just wanted to say the the Lt was one of the best. Served under him in the Support platoon.I ended up as POL squad leader, then again years later when it became 4/12 Inf.
