Tom McCauley, 1/39 Inf = Worms and Baumholder, 1964-1966

Here's another gent who served with the 39th Infantry Regiment, both in Worms and Baumholder.  That means he would've made that long, long drive up the hill from the Rhein to the Rock.  Plus, it looks like he spent almost two years there but only got one summer!  (Yeah, yeah, better than some, I know.)

I've sent Tom a few email addresses from fellows who served back then, and meanwhile if anyone else remembers him or was with Paddy's Gang in the mid-1960s, please be sure to drop a line.

SP/4 Thomas (Tom) J McCauley
Arrived in Worms in November 1964
Departed from Baumholder in May 1966

I have Tom's contact details, as well.

SGT James E. Barker, 39th Infantry Regiment, WWII

News from a family member of Sergeant James E Barker who served with Paddy's Gang in 1944.
This is actually my Uncle.  He was KIA outside of St. Lo in northern France.   The family has very little information surrounding his death or activities leading up to that time.  I would very much like to find surviving members of his Company that may have any recollection either of him or of the Companies activities at that time.

As a side note, I have visited the Brittany American Cemetery recently and have pictures on a number of the headstones for the 39th if you think anyone would be interested.   I also have a Youtube video of the cemetery and my uncles stone in specific. http://www.youtube.com/user/mb21784#p/a/u/1/8YD4k7grVYU

Any information or direction that you can provide would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Mike Barker

Darren Moore, Paddy's Gang 1984-1986

Here's another 1/39 Infantry post from a man of few words, PFC Darren L Moore:
PFC Darren L Moore
Got in a little trouble.
HHC & B Co.
Arrived 11/84, departed 11/86

OK! I rate that one as a classic of clarity and brevity.

Meanwhile, if you recall Darren and want to get in touch, drop a line.

H D Smith Barracks, Baumholder FRG 1979-1982

Another beautiful pair of photos from Chuck Braziel, who really captured the light of a cold, late winter's day in Baumholder.

Many a member of Paddy's Gang will remember humping equipment up and down these hills.

Thanks, Chuck.
