Russ Nehmer, Echo Company 1/39 Inf, 1988-1989
Russ,
Thanks for the comment. I was going to send an answer and ask if you'd like me to post any names on the site, but for some reason I can't seem to raise your email address -- please send a quick note to me at mginn@fwi.net.au and I'll RSVP direct. Or I'm happy to just post it on-line if you prefer.
Cheers
Matt

I was looking at the site again and remmebering the old days thru 1/39 to 4/12. I spent it seems forever in Baumholder (1988-1993). I am back in the Army since 2005 after my cousin was killed in Iraq (SSG Lester Kinney). Now stationed in Germany again with 66 MI Group in Darmstadt. Have had success tracking down only one other former soldier from my previous days. Keep up with the good work and hopefully the site will continue to grow with more people and stories.

Russ,
My apologies -- I'm about 99% certain that I failed to reply to this earlier email of yours. Have been hull-down with a couple of projects and I know a few emails have slipped past me. Again, apologies for the delay.
Say, that's hard news about your cousin. I hope they got the guy who did it, too.
What's the news from Darmstadt? I thought you fellows were being shut down and transferred, perhaps over to Wiesbaden? I don't know either town especially well but I would've thought Darmstadt would be a bit better located, not too far from Frankfurt, not too far from Heidelberg. After I took a European out I spent a couple of years in Heidelberg -- a great place.
Are there any names you'd like me to post? The way the search engines work, a person hunting for a given name and a keyword (like "army" or "infantry") will often end up at one of these two web beacons. But I've got to post the names first . . . a pity I don't have the old unit rosters.
OK, better run, hope all's going well for you in Darmstadt.
Cheers
Matt
