Ken Stockton, Alpha Co 1/39 Infantry, Baumholder Germany 1971-1972

Here's some interesting info from Ken Stockton, a Viet Nam era vet who served with Paddy's Gang in the early 1970s.

1971/72 A Company 1st Platoon, captain Bagnulo, Marty Ivens from Boston, Don, Harper from Terra Haute, Carlos Wilder from Kentucky, name is Ken Stockton from California, our APC was named Big Kahuna

Interesting to think that his track 'Big Kahuna' might have still been in Alpha Co when I was there fifteen years later. Around 1987 we had some tech specialists come out from the States to check our M113s for some reason. One of mine got sanded back to metal, and you could see where it had been repaired from major hits (probably 12.7mm) taken in Viet Nam. If I remember correctly, badly damaged tracks got sent back to depot in the States and then refielded to Germany.
