Rocky Hockenberry, Alpha Co Weapons Platoon, 39th Infantry Regiment 1978-1979 UPDATE

Things have been quiet lately on the 1/39 Infantry Web Beacon, but here's a post from Rocky Hockenberry along with a great picture of him down in Happy Valley.

Hi, I was in A Co./ Weapons platoon as a track driver in 1978-79. Our Lt. was Lt. Troutman, Plt. Sgt was SSgt. Gilley, who did 2 tours in Vietnam with the 7th Calvary, This pic is me in 'HAPPY VALLEY' below the barracks, after a day working in the motor pool(notice the fingernails)drinking a bottle of strawberry wine i got from a shnitzelboy wagon.I Left behind a lot of great friends. My favorite memory was going to Luxembourg, and their Army officers offered to buy the company all the beer we could drink. Needless to say they ran out of money. LOL

Well . . . 1979 is sure starting to seem like a long time ago.

If any of you would like to get in touch with Rocky, or add your own details, please post an email in the comments and I'll back to you.

Also, if you were also with the Alpha Co Weapons Platoon around 1979, be sure to check out Chuck Braziel's posts.

AAAO!

Rocky's sent another photo from The Old Days. Funny to think I've looked out this very same windowsill, seven years later.

UPDATE: SSG/MSG Gilley turned up in an earlier post from Chuck Braziel.
