39th Infantry 'Returns' to Germany, September 1963

Jack Falcone remembers:
At Taukkunnen Barracks, Worms FRG, we were re-flagged from the 1/48th ARB to 1st Battalion 39th Infantry in September 1963. Here we are, 2 squad, 2nd platoon. SFC Ford with SSGT Daniels behind the flag and me (Jack Falcone) 2nd row 3rd from the right.

SGT Greg A Smith, Alpha Co 1/39 Inf (M)

Another late post, with apologies.  I managed to smoke the computer and lose most of my database, so have been posting very slowly while rebuilding it.

Heard from Greg Smith, who's out in California.  He served with Paddy's Gang from September 1973 through September 1975, in 3rd Platoon Alpha Co.  My old platoon!  Although he did get there a good ten years before I did.

Anyone trying to reach Greg, or any other fellows from the 1st Battalion, 39th Infantry back in the day, feel free to drop a line.

AAAO!

Steve Tierney, 1/39 Infantry Combat Support Company, 1981-1982

Why are all of Chuck Braziel's Baumholder photos taken in the snow? Anyone? Bueller?

Steve Tierney along with an ITV, during our CSC AT Platoon days.

Chuck Braziel
I note that the hammerhead is up, and Steve is standing in a place reserved for special guests of honor. Reminds me of an incident out on the range on day in 1986 . . . a day Ray Nagy will never forget, or live down . . . but that'll have to wait for another post.

Always First!
