Pvt Earl F. Bandy, Echo Co, 39th Infantry Regiment 1944
Mr Earl Bandy is presently writing about his grandfather, Private Earl Bandy, whose WWII experiences in the regiment saw him take part in the Normandy landings and the breakout across France during the summer of 1944.
The order to roll out came on June 3. The men in hospital and in the Regimental Guard house were sent back to the company. My grandfather, Pvt Earl F Bandy, returned from his latest AWOL just in time to board the trucks.
